We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the end -to-end payroll process for a multi-entity organization. This role is a responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing across multiple company codes while leveraging ADP Workforce Now and integrated Time & attendance system. The Payroll Manager works closely with Human Resources, Accounting, Finance teams to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of payroll operations.
The ideal candidate has strong payroll leadership experience, deep knowledge of payroll systems and compliance requirements, and a collaborative approach to supporting employees and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple company codes (approximately 10 entities)
- Supervise payroll staff and provide training guidance and performance management were applicable.
- Lead payroll systems improvements, process, and optimization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Administer multi-state payroll, including state and local tax compliance.
- Set up and maintain functional payroll systems
- Streamline and document compensation procedures
- Approve one-time or permanent changes in payroll (e.g. salary increases, tax deduction, bonuses, expense reimbursements)
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR to create payroll reports and forecasts
- Stay up to date with labor legislation and any changes in employee insurance and tax regulations
- Issuing off-cycle paychecks and Wisely funding
- Maintain employee records, ensure employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis.
- Coordinate payroll funding, tax payments, and payroll journal entries
- Download ADP Invoices and G/L files for Accounting.
- Download I-Reports and distribute to shared folders.
- Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports.
Qualifications – Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations, reporting requirements, and HR operations.
- Familiarity with enterprise HRMS systems and timekeeping/scheduling applications.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications – Experience:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience managing HR and payroll systems, preferably in a complex, automated environment.
- Progressive payroll experience including managing payroll for mid to large size organization.
- Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience working with time and attendance enhanced time in ADP and integrating time data with payroll.
- Experience supervising staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
